Global Democratic Presidential Primary

Around the world, American citizens living abroad had the opportunity to participate in the Democrat’s Global Presidential Primary by mail, fax, email, and in person. (source) This week, American citizens around the world turned out to vote in person in the Democratic primary held by Democrats Abroad, March 1-8, 2016.  In Berlin today, expats living in Germany voted.  According to eye-witness accounts, there was a strong turn out at polling stations representing a wide range of demographic groups.  The atmosphere among the people in the crowded rooms at the polling locations has been described as earnest and reflecting the importance and seriousness of exercising the right to vote. Candidates receiving at least 15% or more will be allocated some of the 21 delegates, who will represent Americans living abroad at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. (source)
